Brake motors

Brake motors are used wherever the stopping time of a machinery must be drastically reduced after it’s been switched off, or where stopping is necessary for safety reasons. In any case, an electromagnetic DC brake could be used, which is activated in the absence of power supply. The brake (with one or two friction surfaces) is mounted on the non-driving end of the motor and requires a rectifier to be operated properly. To reduce the stopping time a built-in self-braking rotor mechanism may also be used, which eliminates the rectifier or any further change in dimensions. Elprom Harmanli offers all this in-house. Brake motors are built into wood- and metalworking machines, elevators, hoists, etc.
